The Way She Seems

When she seems frail,
she just needs someone
to truly love her.

Someone to come along
and just remind her
of how strong she was
when she was a girl;

to remind her of her dreams
and convince her through honor
that they still can come true.

Remind her that she's beautiful
just by wanting to share
their precious time with her.

Tell her she's not incomplete!
She's not ugly, fat or old.
She's a woman, a damned fine woman!

And a woman of talents!
She's a woman of warmth.
She's a woman of love,
with God and His light in her heart!

You can just see it right there in her eyes
if you dare to take a look!

She should be loved!
Someone should tell her,
and mean it in their heart when they do,
that she isn't alone anymore
and never will be again.

She's a treasure!
Only a fool wouldn't see that!
What a joy to just be in her presence!
You just feel better when she's there!

When she seems strong,
you need to be so careful,
because she's being strong for more than just herself.

She's being strong for everyone she loves.
Strong for everyone she meets.
Strong for you!

Strong for her past,
strong for her present,
strong for her future.
She has to keep believing she has a future
and an important place in this world.

She's so strong in fact
that she's like the foundation of some great building!
But if you hit her just right
with just the right weapon...

One destructive word could cause her to crumble.
Just one word.
But it's not because she's weak.
It's because she's strong that she is so easily broken!

She's holding up the weight of sorrow for so many!
She needs to be protected!
She herself needs to be held up!

Why shouldn't YOU be the one that steps up next to her...
who sets yourself against her back
and matches the length of her arms
to share her burdens with her?

Why must she try so hard
for so long
to stand so strong
for so many alone?

When will the poet's phrase call like magic
through the fog of the mire,
"...and he shall say to her at last,
here loneliness dies!"?
